I began reading romance novels because I like happy endings. When I discovered the vastness of the genre, I narrowed my preference to romances without excessive profanity or explicit descriptions. Don't get me wrong; a romance novel deserves a good sex scene or two, but I prefer to see them described respectfully.
I want my leading characters to be honorable. They'll have flaws, of course, and they'll make mistakes, but my favorite heroes strive to make their corner of the world a better place.
